  • 9:41 PM Simon McGarr - What crime did Fergus Finlay commit in a prior life?
  • 9:42 PM Alexia Golez - Fianna Fáil and morals..
  • 9:42 PM Simon McGarr - Noel Dempsey assures us that nobody in Fianna Fail has said anything morally over the weekend. I believe him.
  • 9:44 PM Alexia Golez - can’t stop watching Varadkar’s secret hand language

  • 9:47 PM Sunny100 - My God, now Questions and Answers is just shocking.
  • 9:48 PM Christine Bohan - Noel Whelan is making sense. The Church already disclosed all their assets though, back in 2002 when the deal was being arranged; however they refused to make it public, because it was ‘commercially sensitive’.
  • 9:48 PM John J - Sarah’s a babe!

  • 9:52 PM John J - Nice put-down by Finlay!
  • 9:52 PM Simon McGarr - Noel Dempsey has inherited the FF ‘hurt look’ from Barry Andrews and Brian Lenihan. It is the mask for fury of power being questioned.

  • 9:54 PM dermotcasey - Christine agree on wider debate on Education etc. Of course that would take some seriously grown up thinking by our politicians. Heard Micheal Martin talk about how people chose “religious education”, when the only choice is white bread not much choice

  • 10:01 PM joe_elway - Prime Time on RTE right now is very uncomfortable watching. Church rape victim is tearing FF minister a new one and is in near tears.

  • 10:16 PM squidlimerick - Old disconnected Dempsey looks depressed
  • 10:16 PM UnaRocks - Watching questions and answers. Pretty hardcore.
  • 10:17 PM jonathangrimes - @dermotcasey don’t think I’ve ever heard anything as powerful on Questions and Answers before. Even Bowman visibly moved
  • 10:17 PM Simon McGarr - Apologies for the apparent plug, but believe it or not, I only read this myself just now. www.mcgarrsolicitors.ie
  • 10:17 PM dereklawless - A man speaking on questions and answers describing his abuse shaming the institutions of the country. This government is a fucking disgrace.

  • 10:25 PM Suzy Byrne - Those who survived the first time who are still living in residential settings need protection now and the HIQA guidelines must be statutory standards. Hope Fergus Finlay says this too..
  • 10:26 PM Niall001 - I wonder if there has been an increase in reports of suspected child abuse this week?

  1. The big question about the deal is did the Michael Woods do a deal on behalf of the state with the religious or on behalf of the religious with the state?

  2. For the love of everything, Dempsey is basically saying the religious orders were holding the victims hostage to the prospect of going to trial and the state paid the ransom. And somehow this is a good thing?
