The big question about the deal is did the Michael Woods do a deal on behalf of the state with the religious or on behalf of the religious with the state?
For the love of everything, Dempsey is basically saying the religious orders were holding the victims hostage to the prospect of going to trial and the state paid the ransom. And somehow this is a good thing?
